While amalgam (metal/silver) fillings were the gold standard for years, there are now other dental material options that also work great. At Bielozer Family Dental, we use both amalgam and composite (tooth-colored) filling material. The composite filling material comes in a variety of shades that allow us to match to a person’s existing tooth shade. Using a composite material allows us to preserve more of your natural tooth structure, and because they bond to the tooth itself, can help strengthen a weakened tooth.
